CRUISES!

So, we have now hosted FOUR scrapbook cruises!

All have been amazing!

A Few Pictures from Our First Cruise

Just a few Pictures from our 2nd Cruise

A bunch of Pictures from our 4nd Cruise

Our 5th one is March 2008 and is sold out!

Our November Cruise!!!

(This will be our 6th cruise!)

4-Night Cruise

to Cabo San Lucas!

November 6-10, 2008

(Veteran’s Day weekend!)

Ok – we used to cruise on Royal Caribbean, but our usual ship was moved to the Bahamas.

We have never done a Carnival Cruise before, but we are going to try out the Carnival Elation and you can join us!

I spent a day taking an exclusive tour and luncheon on this ship (along with Jagger and Kristi from Magic 92.5!) and I noticed that there are many differences between our previous cruises and this one. I’ve tried to detail some of those difference for you here:

Pros:

ü    This cruise will depart from San Diego!!! We used to depart out of San Pedro – a 1½ hour drive away – YAY!

ü    This cruise is 4 nights instead of three – so, we have a whole extra day of fun!

ü    The inside cabins are larger than RCCL’s – I was really impressed.

ü    There are many more social places on this ship than we are used to. Since we will have an extra day out to sea, I think it will be nice to have a variety and more ways to enjoy this ship!

Cons:

ü    There are far fewer windows in the crop room. So, lighting will continue to be an issue. We encourage you to purchase/bring additional lighting for your work space.

ü    There is a $50 charge for any name changes or corrections. If your cabinmate changes or you don’t provide your name exactly like it is on your passport, this charge will be passed on to you.

Other Differences:

ü    The crop room is more square than we are used to with fewer interruptions in space.

ü    The tables are made of aluminum.

ü    Carnival has more restrictions and requirements about sharp objects.

ü    The crop room is located off main dining room in the aft of the ship.

ü    Timeline and amounts for payments is different.

ü    The cruise is one additional day.

ü    There are many more public areas to congregate. I really liked this about this ship. If you want to get out and have some fun, this ship is really suited to that.

ü    The layout is just considerably different: the ceilings are lower and it was funny to me; the public restrooms are… well… “weird” – not sure how else to describe them; there are a lot more public/open spaces… it’s just different, I guess.

ü    I’ll continue to update this as I recall issues.
